Guide for Authors

  • All manuscripts must be handled in fairness based on the scientific merit of the content regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, citizenry nor political values of author(s).

  • That information pertaining to manuscripts is kept confidential.

  • That any observed conflict of interest pertaining to manuscripts must be disclosed.

  • The Editorial Board takes responsibility for making publication decisions for submitted manuscripts based on the reviewer’s evaluation of the manuscript, policies of the journal editorial board and legal restrain acting against plagiarism, libel and copyright infringement.

Editorial Process

The Editor-in-Chief and associate editors do a preliminary assessment of the submitted articles' appropriateness. Manuscripts that pass the preliminary screening will be submitted to at least two reviewers for consideration. Unsuitable items will be returned with a brief message to the authors. The refereeing process is "double-blind," meaning that the author's identity is kept hidden from the referee and vice versa. Authors may be requested to re-submit their piece in a revised version, but the editor will only consider one re-submission unless there are special circumstances. Both authors and referees will be notified of the Editor's decision on publishing with explanatory comments, including referees' reports, when the refereeing and editorial procedures are completed. The time it takes from receiving the submission and obtaining a response varies, but a 20-day turnaround is typical.

Preparation of Manuscript

Please submit your paper using a 12 point type face with line spacing of 1.5. Equations should appear on a separate line with equation numbers (where necessary) aligned at the right-hand margin. References should be cited according to the Harvard System, i.e. author(s)’ names and date of publication to be given in the body of the text and the references collected alphabetically at the end of the paper. The title of the journal or source should be given in full.

Figures and Tables:

  • Figures and tables should be arranged, as far as possible, in portrait with headings and labels orientated horizontally, using black and white only.
  • All figures and tables must be cited in the article. The final placement of figures and tables within your article will be determined by where they are first cited.
  • Tables should be submitted in MS Word. They should not be submitted as images or in a graphic format. Tables created using Excel should be converted to MS Word.
  • Please try and fit tables into a single page. If more than one page is required, please ensure that the correct column headings are repeated on each page.
  • Please use the superscript letters a, b, and c for explanatory footnotes within the table.
  • Standard errors should be in parentheses (…), and placed below their corresponding coefficient.
  • Report only two decimal places for all statistics.

In order to aid the referees, detailed mathematical workings should be included with the papers when applicable. The results of these calculations will not be made public. Authors should be prepared to send a copy of the data and details of the methodology used (possibly in the form of a self-explanatory computer printout) to the Editor in the case of articles quoting statistics (such as regression coefficients) based on unquoted data so that the referee can test the derivation of such statistics.
